New Hospitals Programme

The trusts are working together, and with other health and community organisations, to bring new hospitals and better hospital services to Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Jerry Hawker, director of transformation for NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria and senior responsible officer for the Lancashire and South Cumbria New Hospitals Programme, said: “These important developments are being managed across Lancashire and South Cumbria, rather than by individual trusts, so that the whole population benefits.

“The programme’s success has only been possible through organisations coming together and collaborating at every level. Our clinicians collaborating on the clinical strategy, estates teams working together to strengthen our case for change and every organisation supporting our communications and engagement with staff, patients and local communities. Behind all this has been a common and collaborative voice of the trust boards and leadership teams committed to make the programme a success.”
